Vanessa is a mystic woman who discovered through a natural disaster, living in extremes offers the ability to be able to appreciate it all. The noise, the silence, the conveniences, the doing without, the access, the remoteness, the community, the independence. All of it gets the best of her attention and is wildly accepted. She is now free.

Surviving the Alaskan Way

The high prices of living in remote Alaska is beyond means, of what it means, to live. The cost is steep and not just what we pay out to live here, but how it’s taxing our system. All levels of this. Energetically speaking it’s not conducive for all to live out their lives under this pressure. Much like a diamond forming, can we become acceptable of our rough exterior, unclear and buried in darkness? How long must we sit in this? And can we accept that it might not be necessary here/’in this’ continuum to reach what we are seeking? Why are we here in the first place? Is the calling that howled through our windswept spirit pulling us to this space, be only still for a moment in time? What thought believed us to take root, and try to grow in this extremism, only to find ourselves in pure gratitude for being here and then traveling beyond and back again, the back and forth dance like a willow – forever flexible. Did we misread the calling?

Humans desire stability, it’s only natural, but by whose suggestion? Is this impermanence healthy or necessary? Nomadically speaking, it’s not our norm. Much like the seasons, we shift, we move, our habitat is our means to survival. A bear would never make it through a winter without a lair.  But what if said lair, HELPED you by not being there? What if we used everything in our life, as a means to communicate and listen to what’s being required? Everything. Every disgust, every heartache, every sadness? What if it is talking to you asking if we can understand? These are the signs, this is telepathy.

This extremism is why I can radically appreciate it all. Tears flowing down into the electrodes on my head during my EEG. The big questions of ‘why’. Why is this happening? Why do I need to travel 4000 miles to get help? Why can’t I just do what I want? Why is this happening to me?

“To survive in this land you must be tough.” Generations of white men plowed their bootprints into the mountainside, carving out this belief. Justifying their search for the holy grail, in their case it was gold. It’s all they had left, ‘hope’ was in a leather pouch of promises from those before them. And to reach the summit of their determination for a better life they were willing to risk a poor minded one. But did they stay after they peaked if they survived at all?

Much like the bears who hibernate and the birds who migrate south, what is the big gruff about nomads? Why is the belief of not being ‘strong enough’ imposed on their way of life? Why is it necessary to stay? Very few animals are active, living through the winter in remote Alaska is not a measure of strength but of choice. What does your soul need? Can you be replenished through hibernation, can you let that feed you through your practice of extreme slowing down? Are you listening to your needs, or fighting the wind that whips your mouthful of opinions? Can you hear yourself? Can you rekindle the flame to warm your vulnerability, lighting your way to journal your heart. What do you need? It’s not just what you want.

To reach the summit of your exploration, it takes all the tools of your experience from your past. It will take your greatest strength and rarely used muscle memory to conjure up a good listener. Can you get honest enough to listen without interruption of what you intuit? Can you adjust your fear meter to mute and entertain this lucid dream? Walk this way.

It is by no accident that you are where you are. But it also doesn’t mean that it’s complete. Here there is no success, as when you reach your summit, there are only more hills and valleys to be traveled as well as getting down, for the top is no place to live for us two legged creatures. We’re continually on a walkabout, write down your findings, rest then reset to go onward.

It might cost you your savings, it might minus your account, but this is the act of replenishing. It, much like the seasons, much like the waves in the ocean rocking the boat, this transaction of movement of where life is. This is in-between. Everything is experienced here, you were just too busy to see it. Welcome to now. Who knows what could happen. Delicious isn’t it?

Be well fed. Nourish yourself in the deepest sense. Don’t fight where you are, it’s an offering. Are we listening? Then, are we asking ourselves what we need, beyond what we want? Stay clear. Don’t buckle under pressure from the external. Tend to your own fire, be quiet enough to hear. Add salt to your magick as the tears trickle, let the tongue catch them. Purr, om, feel the gratitude radiate. Just let it. Allow the transition of this transformation of your Universe, you are good enough. Know this.
